I was born in Wisconsin and have lived most of my life in the Washington DC area and New England.

I live in Maine and am an instructor in the Public Service & Social Sciences Department at Central Maine Community College.

I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, popular culture, art, technology and history.

I have been a Fulbright Scholar in Denmark and Japan, a candidate for state representative in New Hampshire, a policy analyst with the Michigan State Senate, newspaper columnist in Maine, and a research assistant for Meet the Press in Washington, DC. I have been teaching political science for over thirty-five years.
