I grew up in the Washington D.C. area and have lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Michigan, Hawaii and Kansas. I am the author of five fiction books, two non-fiction books and the editor of one non-fiction anthology. I have been a college professor, policy analyst, research assistant, candidate for state representative, newspaper columnist and podcaster. As a Fulbright Scholar, I have taught in Denmark and Japan. I currently live and write in Midcoast Maine. 

I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, popular culture, art, technology and history.
